Joining an apprenticeship will have the opportunity to participate in international skills competition and visits to foreign countries to broaden one’s perspective.
Apprentices with outstanding skills can have the chance to represent Hong Kong at the WorldSkills Competition, formerly known as the “Skills Olympics”, which is held every two years. Participants can exchange with young people from all over the world.
Outstanding Apprentices Award
The Office of the Director of Apprenticeship will host an annual Outstanding Apprentices Award to commend the excellent performance of registered apprentices. Awardees will be sent overseas for visit or exchange to broaden their perspectives on vocational education and training.
International Exposure Programme for Apprentices
The Office of the Director of Apprenticeship introduces the “International Exposure Programme for Apprentices” to give apprentices an opportunity to gain overseas experience and exposure by studying short-term technical/practical courses and visiting local institutions/companies.
